The APP001 is a theremin-like instrument made using an Arduino as the backbone and is currently on v1. It makes use of light sensors instead of capacitive sensors to control amplitude and pitch. Its prototype was developed and featured in the first SYNTHICIDE exhibit titled SYNTHETIQUE held in March of 2024 at Anima Art Space. APP stands for Adam Project Prototype and this is the first instrument in that series. A second instrument, APP002, which was also featured in the exhibit, is also in prototype phase.

SYNTHICIDE
SYNTHICIDE is a Philippine concept project, online pseudo-collective and interest group for keyboard/synth players, synthesists, DIYers, circuit benders and enthusiasts.
Activities mainly focus on the performer, maker, synth player, and the synth as the main instrument. But nerdier and more technical topics related to tinkering, music production and performance are also welcome there.
At the moment the site is empty but the Facebook group is active. Not to be confused with SYNTHICIDE of NYC and the US record label.
